Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) today observed the International Day of Yoga at its Train Depot in Greater Noida and at its Bus Depot located at Sector 90, Noida to raise awareness regarding the many benefits of practicing yoga amongst all its officers and staff. Shri P. D. Upadhyay, Executive Director, NMRC alongwith other senior officers of NMRC attended the Yoga session at both the Depots and boosted the morale of all NMRC employees while urging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle in order to live a happy and fulfilling life.
In the Train Depot, the Yoga session was conducted from 6 AM to 7 AM by eminent Yoga practitioner and teacher Yogacharya Nand Kishore, from the Chit Yoga Jagriti Sansthaan located at Shahdara, Delhi. Shri Nand Kishore explained the basic principles of practising Yoga and the benefits of various asanas in curing lifestyle diseases. He also made all NMRC Officers and employees practice some basic asanas and told about the importance of Pranayam and laughter therapy.
In the Bus Depot, the Yoga session was conducted especially for all the drivers and conductors of NMRC’s Feeder Buses. Shri P. D. Upadhyay, and other senior NMRC officers were also present there to encourage the staff of the Feeder Bus service. The Yoga session here was conducted by Shri Kartar Singh, a certified Yoga trainer from 8 AM to 9 AM. Under his guidance the entire Feeder Bus staff gained knowledge about the importance of adopting Yoga in their day to day life and also learned a few basic asanas which can be practised daily by everyone easily.
Shri P. D. Upadhyay concluded the session by addressing all the employees and explaining the importance of Yoga to ensure a healthy mind and healthy body which will form the basis of a healthy workforce which is the foundation of a successful organisation. He also promised to organise such sessions in future as well for the mental and physical well-being of all NMRC employees.
