To Boost Revenue NMRC Explores Non-Farebox options, Float Tenders

In order to augment the revenue from sources other than fare-box i.e. Non-Farebox sources, Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRC) has recently floated various tenders which includes Licensing of Parking Rights at Selected Metro Stations in NMRC and also the Tender for Commercial Space at Sector 101, Sector 81, Sector 83, Depot and Sector 142 Metro Stations in NMRC Network. The details regarding tender floated by NMRC are as follows:

• PARKING TENDER FOR 16 METRO STATIONS OF AQUA LINE: The primary objective of NMRC Parking Policy is to ensure that the Park & Ride facility at the Metro Stations, as far as possible, is patronized by Metro passengers only. This will not only facilitate genuine Metro passengers but also encourage others to use metro services if parking facility is made available to them.

  With a view to facilitate Metro Commuters, PARK AND RIDE facilities have been made available at some of the Metro Stations, wherever space is available for this purpose. NMRC through tender document (TENDER NO._NMRC/Parking/91(R1)/2020) has invited E-Bids for selection of Licensee for granting parking rights at 16 metro stations of Aqua Line. The 16 Metro Stations are: Sector 51, Sector 76, Sector 101, NSEZ, Sector 83, Sector 137, Sector 142, Sector 143, Sector 144, Sector 145, Sector 146, Sector 147, Sector 148, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1 and Delta 1.

  The Selected Bidder shall be permitted to collect parking charges and run the parking site of NMRC at the selected Metro stations(s). A bidder can bid for multiple parking site(s)/ lot(s) across the corridor. Last date of Bid Submission on E-Portal is 24.02.2020 upto 1500 Hrs (IST). • TENDERS FOR LICENSING OF COMMERCIAL SPACE: NMRC has also undertaken to capture value from real estate in such a manner that on one hand it gives sustainable additional revenue to the corporation other than fare box revenue and on other hand facilitating NMRC commuters by providing one stop solution for most of their needs. It also provides incentive for private sector participant developers. Through the bid, NMRC intends to select a ‘Licensee” to take up on “License Basis” the COMMERCIAL SPACE AT SECTOR 101, SECTOR 81, SECTOR 83, Sector 142 and Depot Metro Station

  The Successful Bidder shall have the rights to utilize the said Bare/Unfinished commercial Space at Metro Station for any commercial purpose except for banned usages/negative list as given in Annexure of the RFP document subject to the terms and conditions as specified by NMRC.

OTHER ATTRACTIVE POLICIES OF NMRC INVOLVING PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND REVENUE GENERATION

NMRC also has various attractive policies in place such as FOB Policy and Hiring of Premise Policy.

Ø UNDER THE FOB POLICY, desirous parties may submit application for Construction of Foot Over Bridge/ Sky Walk for interconnection of the establishments with Noida Metro Rail Stations to enhance accessibility to the stations through skywalk/walkways/roads at the concourse or other levels. Ø UNDER THE HIRING OF PREMISE POLICY Production House, Event Management Companies, Show Organizers, Film Producers & Exhibitors And Branding Companies may submit application for hiring of NMRC premises for particular duration for film shooting/photography purpose. • Developing Sector 76 and Pari Chowk Metro stations as Pink stations
• Development of theme based metro markets near parking areas
• QR Based shopping and digital marketing at metro stations
• Installation of plastic crushing vending machines on all stations
• Food and other kiosk at metro stations
• Electrical vehicle charging stations at metro stations premises

RIDERSHIP AND REVENUE FROM AQUA LINE CORRIDOR

The average daily revenue for the Month of January 2020 stood at INR 6, 72,431 and average daily ridership stood at 23,485.
