NMRC TO RESUME OPERATION WITH 7.5 MINUTES FREQUENCY DUE TO INCREASING TREND OF RIDERSHIP

Covid-19 situation has improved and many routine activities have started. Accordingly, increasing trend of passenger ridership on Aqua line is being experienced. In order to facilitate the commuters, NMRC has planned reduction in train headway and extend facilities for the ease of travel. Following norms will be introduced w.e.f. 18-04-2022 –

1.Headway of trains.

2.Commute of passengers inside train –

Current practice Revised Practice.
  • Passengers to sit on alternate seat.
  • If required to travel in standing, adequate distance by way of standing opposite the vacant seats.
  • Passengers are allowed to sit and stand according to the full capacity of coaches maintaining social distancing.

3.Station entrance –

Current practice Revised Practice.
  • At 11 stations (namely Sector 101, Sector 81, Sector 143, Sector - 144, Sector 145, Sector- 146, Sector -147, Sector - 148, Alpha -1, Delta -1,GNIDA Office), 1 gate was made available for the passengers’ entry/exit.
  • At remaining 10 stations, both the gates are kept open.
Both exit/entry gates will be kept open at all the stations during revenue hours.
4.Lifts –

Current practice Revised Practice.
Both the lifts from concourse to platform level were kept operational at all stations. But, at ground level, Only lifts located near the open entry/exit gate of the station were operated during revenue hours. All lifts of every station will be operated to facilitate passengers.
