Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (NMRC) will be contributing Rs. 11 Lakhs (Rupees Eleven Lakhs) to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. The amount was collected after NMRC employees decided to donate their two day’s basic salary. The cheque was personally handed over to Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh by Mrs. Ritu Maheshwari, Managing Director / NMRC and CEO Noida Authority today at the Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida.
NMRC decided to make this contribution in view of the Corona Virus crisis and to assist the State Government agencies in helping the people of Uttar Pradesh in dealing with the current situation and preventing the spread of the Corona Virus. The contributions made to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund is helping the State Government in providing the basic necessities like food and medicines to the needy.
NMRC train services have been suspended till 14th April 2020 in accordance with the Hon’ble Prime Ministers’ s directions for a 21 day total lockdown. Despite not being currently operational, the Aqua Line trains and stations are being cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis. The maintenance of the system is also being done regularly. A dedicated team of staff from the Operations, Maintenance, Rolling Stock and Signalling are consistently monitoring the health of the system and ensuring that the NMRC trains run smoothly and glitch free on the day the services are resumed.
