Public Investment Board (PIB) recommends the Implementation of Metro Rail Corridor from Sector 51 (Noida) to Knowledge Park-V (Greater Noida)

Public Investment Board (PIB) has recommended the Implementation of Metro Rail Corridor from Sector 51 (Noida) to Knowledge Park-V (Greater Noida) of Noida Metro Rail Corporation in its meeting held on 17th November, 2022. The meeting was chaired by Finance Secretary and Secretary (Expenditure) and the same was attended by Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Representative of other ministries were also present in the meeting along with OSD (UT), MoHUA and MD/NMRC. The project has already been approved by Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Project covers the length of 14.958 KM having 09 (nine) stations at a cost of Rs. 2197.49 crores. The proposed extension of existing Aqua Line corridor of NMRC will cater to the needs of Noida/Greater Noida residents especially of Greater Noida (West). This will provide a fast, reliable and environment friendly public transportation system in the area resulting in saving of travel time of passengers.

Earlier, PIB meeting for the project was held on 26th October’2022. However, as the discussions could not be completed, the project was again discussed in next meeting on 17th Novermber’2022. Smt. Ritu Maheshwari, MD/NMRC gave the presentation on the project in the meeting. Now, the project will be sent to Cabinet for final approval.
